Remote ROM Flash Utilities for Compaq Models with a 686P2 or 686P3 Family ROM
This SoftPaq creates a set of utility files that can be used with a remote configuration tool such as Altiris eXpress to update or restore the System ROM in the models with a 686P2/686P3 Family ROM. It also includes the ROM Image.
The standard ROMPaq will not work for updating a PC remotely over a network.
The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and viewing File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text file by selecting File/Save to Diskette.
