Additional Notes

SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio for the Compaq Presario 5000 series (works on my 5640AU)...

v. 5.12.1.3044 for Win2k, XP, should work for 98 SE...

This is the best I can find for a *really* bad sound card... it reduces the crashing from once every 3 seconds to once an hour or so )

I had to unpack it and install it manually through Control Panel.
