"this is for now called "benq" scanner and on benq support homepage there is a complete guide to how install scanner whit this driver on winxp. you have to delete some file and install a flatbet standard scanner.but is all write on benq site."

"The executable only installs a help file, but then *.inf file is not there to define the scanner itself, not just the software to acquire images!!!

I need a driver for the scanner itself, preferably the inf file only, can someone help with that,

"I have upgraded my system to XP Pro - from W98- my Acer Scan Prisa 340 P worked perfectly with W98- now with XP - to begin with when I tried the Plug and Play- it sees it as a SCSI device when it is a Parallel port model- I have the CD which i used to install it in W98 (v3.40)- but does not work in XP pro.The wizard tries to get you to install the SCSI device so I cancel

out of that- all I got when I ran the driver downloaded from BenQ - in the All Programs- is MiraScan V3.42 then with the --> only get the MiraScan Help- I have looked at the Unzipped download and it has a number of files.

Further- when I went to the control panel and checked scanners et al - I had the following -Manufacturer- EPPScanner model-Color Flatbedscanner -Port-Auto. Status-Device Ready

Then there was a facility to test the scanner ---and guess what-it said your image device successfully completed diagnostic test -- it even did this when I had unplugged it in another attempt

So where do I go from here ???
