"Installed, but didn't operate the backpack. It detects the usb as a parallel LPT1, but that's all it does.

Pretty much useless.

"Must download drivers first befoe you install thses driver. SHut down and plug in the back pack. May not recognize it at first but later picks it up. Backpack CD writer worked great."

"These files have been superceded by PNP407D.exe

Only use these if the later files do not work with a earlier version of Windows 9X."
