"Download this driver because I was having problems with WinXP not using the onboard SIS 7001 as usb 2.0

When I unzipped and install it showed as SIS 7002 and WinXP kept the old MS 7001 driver which I could not uninstall or delete so it did not solve my problem.

Why is this driver descibed as 7001 when it installs as 7002?"

"This is NO driver for SiS 7001, but instead for SiS 7002. Hence the name is wrong.

The Driver installation quit with the following error:

-536870389

Manual installation works, but the device still doesn't work...

"The installation was simple enough, with minimal - but unclear - interaction. It basically adds another USB "hub" to the existing hub in Device Manager, but since it all functions decently, it received a GOOD rating."

"Installation process failed. System restart hung - I had to return to a previous version of XP - and even that failed to start. I started than in "Debug Mode" to get the system up again. The driver was ...SIS7001..zip. I unsubscribed from that "free" software!"
