Cirrus Logic 5430/M30/40/M40 PCI
Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT4, Windows ME, Windows 98SE, Windows 98, Windows 95
Direct X flash upgrade for the mentioned Cirrus cards. Also contains uprated Windows 95 drivers, purportedly only for Packard Bell computers with the Cirrus based cards, but the flash part should work for any card with the flash prom on it. These cards will have a sort of electric blue colored prom chip in addition to the 5420/30/34/40 vpu, BIOS, and RAM chips. The flash adds Direct X support to the video BIOS, which should greatly improve performance under any Windows OS. Unzip to a floppy and read the instructions. The 5440 upgrade is accomplished in Windows 9X...all the others require booting to the floppy. I believe it works with both PCI and ISA cards.
