"I had to click on 'view --> choose details...' and select Product Version, and then replace some of the files in 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers' with the 5.1.2600.1106 version drivers from the zip file, after renaming them from '.sy_' to '.sys'.

n dump the lot into 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers' and press "Yes to all" when it asks you about replacing files. This will update the drivers you have, to work with USB 2.0.

usbport.sy_

usbstor.sy_

usbukci.sy_

I also added the file USB101ET.SYS to 'C:\WINDOWS\system32.drivers', as it was not in there.

"a file required for the installation appears to be missing for via usb , it is called usbehci.sys"
