"Installer won't work on Win2k. This ZIP file only contains installers for Win98 and WinNT. Even browsing for driver install (through devmgmt) doesn't install it from this zip file. No go for Win2k and above for this zip file."

"I rated this poor, because it said I have downloaded the driver, when It NEVER downloaded the driver. Instead, it told me I have to register again. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!"

"Tried this in my Compaq 5000 with the GVC modem. Did not work. No help from Compaq or GVC. Will not get burned by either company again. Compaq support seems very poor."

"This is a clone of a PC Tel HSP56, although said drivers are not compatible with this actual hardware. This modem is preinstalled in the Compaq Presario 5000 (model 5BW250). This modem in general is a pain in the butt to install because it sucks so badly."
