This driver IS available at the micro-solutions website, however that site doesn't support suspended/resumed downloads which is a problem if you have an unreliable internet connection. They claim it will work with almost all backpack CDROM drives. And it did work for my 166550. Download it and run PNP302D from the start | run menu.
