"I couldnt figure out how to get this stupid thing to work. I uprgraded from WinXP home to pro. and it screwed up my sound drive, and it wont reinstall. So im tryin to figure out how to install it from the internet but this didnt work. So i am at square one once again"

How to Update Intel(r) AC'97 Audio Controller - SigmaTel Codec Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
