"I always have good luck with the drivers I download from driverguide.com because I stick with a few basic rules:

1. I always search carefully and read descriptions before I download.

2. I always scan the downloads for malware and viruses. (Not that driverguide.com has ever passed along anything bad!)

3. I stick with Windows XP.

4. I install drivers manually

and inspect the .inf files before I mount them withing the Device Manager.

5. If I ever downloaded a driver that was incorrectly represented, I treat the driverguide.com community with respect and flag that download."

"the file extracted well enough, but there seemed to be an issue with the install.exe

the xp driver update couldn't find it. It also failed to install manually"
