This SP1/SP2 XP driver release by Silicon Motion appears to be very stable compared with earlier versions such as or earlier which were renowned for the random blue screens of death !

Pity this certified driver is not yet included on the original Microsoft XP SP2 CD.

"This driver seems like what I could have needed when I used my laptop a lot more as a movie viewing machine in a friend's house, now the laptop has become quite stationary as my brother confounded it for is ventrillo needs in WoW (an MMORPG - if you don't know what's all these acronyms you must have a social life)"

"I agree that this XP driver for 3DM and 3DM+ graphics card is the BEST I've seen and used yet. It's only frozen one and once on my desktop since downloading this driver, and by my reckoning that is a pretty GOOD record because I used to often suffer from warped frustrations with the countless old random freeze effects :).

"I'm not a loser but I've been searching high and low for this XP driver. Wish I knew about it ages ago cos my computer used to (#&"%% unexpectedly hang and hang many times after I upgrade fm Win98SE to XP. Now no more !!!

So cool that Silicon Motion now fixed their device drivers for this XP one. Now I can best recommend member to adop

How to Update Silicon Motion Lynx3DM Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
