"Yes, maybe this driver helps at some point, because this pci card is very old and have some problems with the "Plug and Play", so yes - the driver helps! :)"

"I believe this was the driver I wound up using, but it doesn't support DMA. I suspect this is by design, since under Linux, the DMA works on a single hard drive OK, but fails otherwise and didn't work on CDs. I believe this is a hardware issue that this driver simply worked around by not allowing DMA at all, so you're just as well of with the stock Windows driver."

"This driver lead to disappearing the message "your ultra66 driver is old ..." seen in the "events observer" of windows 2000.

Compare to native old driver of windows 2000, there were no system enhancements of the bus and of the ATA-66 promise controller."

"installed on 98SE - followed the directions to the letter and flashed the bios. It said that it completed successfully, but when I re-booted the video was gone - couldnt fix it, tried everything, had to trash the mother board"

"By now XP might have a native driver in service pack 1...or you can try right clicking the Win2k driver files and selecting "install with windows 2000 compatibility" from the compatibility tab."
