Additional Notes

I have the Aureal 8830 working just fine on both my XP Professional and Windows 2003 server. I have had the XP driver (which is the same I used for my 2003 install the other day), since I upgraded my system back in 2000. No sound problems whatsoever. It has volume and the advance volume options. Never a problem. I guess because I had the driver loaded when I upgraded ME to XP years ago.

Just extract the zip file to a directory and then run the add/remove hardware and specify the location of the extracted files. I ignored the warning that the driver was not for 2003 (which I am sure XP will warn) and when ahead and loaded the driver. Again after a reboot, all worked great. I am a network engineer/MCSE etc, so I take chances as I can always get back.
