"All the file endings in disks 2 - 7 are .z - so the download is useless. Windows needs the correct file endings - it doesn't recognize any of the files in this download."

"For Windows XP installation: when installing, NEVER choose "Express". Choose "Custom" and then uncheck "OCR" and "sample documents". If you do this then the installation is easy and simple. "Better than nothing, though incomplete. However it did have enough on it to replace the essential damaged files on my original install CD.

"I downloaded it. I followed the suggestion and did the custom setup. Works so far. Its a shame that it doesn't have the Iris thing disk. I assume that's for the OCR when scanning and recognizing documents. I hope someone who has the whole thing will upload it. This just saved me $10 because HP no longer carries the driver on its website for downloading. You have to

"To install, you *must* select "Custom" install, and deselect the Iris OCR section. Uncheck any checkboxes next to the word "Iris". Everything else can stay checked. You will probably have problems if you stay with "Typical" instead of "Custom" install."

"Unfortunately, I too tried to install it on a Win2K Pro system and it stopped looking for the Iris Setup Disk 1. This is great to do it, shame that it is missing that disk from the zip."
