To enable modem disconnect on call-waiting for Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR (IBM ThinkPad i Series 1300, etc?) for Windows XP/2000. First, get this (V.92 driver for the Lucent/Agere Soft Modem AMR) Toshiba Software Modem Driver v.SM2121ALL02 for Windows XP/2000; http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/s195zmdm2.exe

Next, unzip its contents to C:\modem.temp (the default path)

Then, go to your Windows control panel and double-click on System, choose Hardware tab, then Device Manager.

How to Update Soft Modem AMR Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

Step 1 - Download Your Driver

  • In Windows 7, click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

  • In Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager

  • In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
