"I tried and tried but couldn't get the scanner recognised. Driver install seemed to go OK but returned an error "Unable to connect to scanner".

I managed to get the scanner working with a previous notebook - though it was a mighty fiddle and sometimes needed a restart before it recognised it. Pity, the Artec is a reasonable scanner. Given up now and bought a n

"People, if you installed the scanner with the cd (green) and it never worked and always came up with an error this file WILL NOT WORK!!! do not use the cd or you're screwed. Do a system restore to a time before you installed the cd!!!"

"The driver appears OK but i get a "Twunk_32" error message on running. After reporting to microsoft they say fault is McAfee Virus scan... The problem is it isnt on my system and have checked all registry files!"

"For those who could not run this is my experince it just wouldn't run, so I put an extra 5 Volt power supply to the scanner, and it work just fine. but before put on the dc power please remember to cut the USB connection pin 1, or you might get a problem."

"For everyone about the 1236.sys problem if you installed the scanner driver with the cd it came with, that's the problem. The cd isn't compadible with xp. you'll have to get rid of all files on your computer from the cd. go to search and type "oem". check each one and delete anything that says artec, scanner, 1236 or anything to do with that. Make sure that all fil

es from cd are out of your computer. It takes a long time but it works. then download this driver and it works fine. if you don't want to do that then go to system restore on xp and restore your computer to a time before you installed the scanner. Good Luck!"

"4/7/03 I downloaded to a buffer, and executed from 'xp' 'run'. I rebooted and plugged in the scanner (direct to the motherboard) during the reboot. Worked just fine. dpg the nodak kid"

"Im having what seems to be the same problem as others on this bulletin board. Ive installed the driver but it doesnt like it. It asks me to check connections and warns me that I cant run it through a bus powered USB. Cant find anything wrong and any help would be appreciated a lot."

"Didn't work that well with my ultima 2000 (they use the same drivers)crashed every so often so I installed Dachshund software's AntiCrash on my system and had it slightly modify the program to make it more stable. Runs like a dream now."

"My XP didn't like it. I got a story about not passing the compatibility test and then an error message about not accepting a scanner attached to the system power bus (best of recollection). I'm still working on the problem.Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Bill"

"I got half way through which included the downloading of the .EXE file. I have not been able to trick or get Win XP to properly install this driver. This is probably some basic thing that I am missing. Any help would be appreciated"

"Installation failed because it requested a file named A1236.sys, which it couldn't find. I found one one my old Win98 Amitech CD-ROM, but it wasn't accepted.

The driver was to be used with an Amitech 230 scanner."
