Avaya SIP Softphone Release 2.0 Software Utility File.

The Avaya SIP Softphone application can be downloaded and distributed free of charge. The following system requirements must be met:

Microsoft Windows Operating System

Windows 2000 Professional

Windows XP Home or Professional

Windows Tablet PC

Note that the Tablet PC touch screen APIs are not explicitly supported; that is, SIP Softphone will function as well as other Microsoft applications not specifically designed for Tablet PC and touch screen functionality.

Processor: an Intel Pentium III 800 MHz (or higher) processor.

Memory: the minimum amount of memory required is different depending on the operating system. Additional memory will be needed to run other applications.

How to Update SIP Softphone Device Drivers

Step 1 - Download Your Driver

To get the SIP Softphone driver, click the green download button above. After you complete your download, move on to Step 2.

If the driver listed is not the right version or operating system, search our driver archive for the correct version. Enter Avaya SIP Softphone into the search box above and then submit. In the results, choose the best match for your PC and operating system.

Tech Tip: If you are having trouble deciding which is the right driver, try the Avaya Driver Update Utility. It is a software utility which automatically finds and downloads the right driver.

To find the newest driver, you may need to visit the Avaya website. Most major device manufacturers update their drivers regularly.

Step 2 - Install Your Driver

After downloading the new driver, proceed with installation. On Windows, use the built-in Device Manager utility to manage your system's devices and drivers. To access it:

  1. Right-click the Start button

  2. Select "Device Manager" from the menu

  3. Locate the device needing the update

  4. Right-click the device and choose "Update driver"

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to install

Once complete, restart your computer to ensure the new driver is fully implemented and functioning properly.

This process helps maintain your system's performance and compatibility with various hardware components.
