The KX Project made this driver in order to optimize potential and provide access to features of specific sound cards, notably the EMU 10K1 and 10K2 based versions of Creative Soundblaster Live! 5.1 as well as Audigy. I use this driver because it eliminates completely the annoying hiss that my original Creative/EMU 10K1 card had with the original drivers...and none of the drivers at the Creative site work for this particular version of the 5.1 card. The installation file won't even recognize that a Creative card is in the computer. This file also includes utilities which include access to DSP effects that the card offers as well as a recording mixer et al. You can also obtain this driver at the KX website...and for other operating systems as well.
