"Althought it's hard to tell whether XP's or the driver's own setup works best for installing, it does work. Media Player and even the Control Panel still fail to detect it (thanks to their own flaws and to the computer being a lousy Compaq, of all things), but better software like WinAmp have no issue with it whatsoever.

Installation uses Add new hardware wizard. During the adding process an error message came from setup.exe. Wizard closed properly.

Rerunning setup started the wizard again, afterwards worked fine."
