results: this driver set worked well. each part of the driver [sound, gameport, MPU401 (midi), and FM Symth (wave)] needed to be loaded separately from "Control Pannel -> Install/Remove Hardware" wizard (setup file included installs only the fancy HMI, not the drivers)"
