"Thought this was a sure fire way to hook up a twain parallel scanner. Guess I'm too cheap to buy a USB one. Used the driver in my XP PC and NT4 lappy, and the results are going the same way, but I haven't delved in too deep to fix it yet.

I actually have the original drivers on CD, but this driver is the same - designed around win 3.1 and 95 - well you cannot expect

"This was great! It was a very smooth install. After the restart, was able to use InfanView to aquire the image without a problem. Original manufacturer does not support XP and was quite relieved to be able to find a usable driver and continue to use the scanner."

"was very satisfied with this driver could not find one any where else for xp worked almost as good as the original written for 98se. Did loose some functionality. To be expected could not use software that came with the scanner since it was for 98se and not xp."

"I've got an OpticPro by Plustek. This driver was not listed as working with Windows XP...it didn't. Really looking for someone who might offer suggestions on alternative driver or a way I can get it to work in my system.

Any help would be massively appreciated. VR/Tim

"I installed and had a dll error. I re-installed scanner s/w, then installed the driver again, and it worked good on the first scan. Every scan after that that uses color gives a "bad i/o or disk full" error after the scan completes. It still seems to work for black and white, and grey scale"

"Driver accessed the scanner OK BUT!!!!

When scanning 100% and 100 dpi was fine any other setting the image sheared and the colours went weird!"

"Tried lots of drivers. DLL still missing on my XP. Scanner worked fine under Windows98 on the same system. Internal error when unistall. Definitely think will have to be environment unfriendly replacing working device OK for my needs, make sure not from same company because of that poor support"

"Tried a number of drivers found here, but this is the only one that works well w my Plustek Optic Pro 9630PL scanner. For some reason, whenever I boot the program, the first couple of scans are a color mess, but then it clears up and is OK, tho the images look a bit dark. If you want more info, you can email me."

"It works perfect!!! For the people that finds the DLL problem DO NOT use the Action Manager. Use the Microsoft Office Document Scanning!!! Test it first. It's in the Microsoft Office Tools. Good Luck!!!"

"Interesting. It worked fine on first try. Only thing different is I have to go into photo magic (the program that came originally on the cd with the scanner), and scan from there by going to file, then aquire. When I goto the scanner utility (like I use to do), it just brings up some info on the scanner. So those of you having that problem. Do what I did and "go through" t

"I downloaded this driver and ran it. It didn't work so I ran the file again and it works great. Must have missed something the first time through. I can also use it from Micr Publisher and from other applications with scan features. I am running an H/P Pavillion 700 with X/P."

"This driver works great with Windows XP-Service Pack 1. All I did was to download it, Installed it and test it. It was fast and easy. P.S. My BIOS is set to Bi-Directional since my printer and scanner share the same printer port."

"I have downloaded and installed the driver without any problems, however when i go to run the "scanner utility" I get an error "Scanner DLL not found" i'm using XP professional, but don't have Admin access, is this why?"

"I removed Jacek’s driver v3-nt9630 via add remove programs titled “plustic scanner” keeping “9630/FBIV” installed. The uninstall did not completely remove the installation however. Then installed Colin’s driver 9630-nt-e. I was now able to make several scans without exiting and reloading plustic magic40 for each scan. Works better."

""Scan Failed" I had the same problem except mine wouldn't even scan anything...just go through the motions and lock up. If you are able to call up the scan utility and turn the light on and off, you on on the right track. Note to see if the recognized scan port is a EPP or SPP. My problem was it deteced the scanner on the SPP port (slower and probably caused time-outs...h

""Scan dll not found" error It seems like the scanner driver you have loaded is not the right one for the loaded software. I had this problem too and had to find and delete all the twain*.* files twunk*.* files run scanfx.ini and delete all entries and save it remove/uninstall the scanner software and reload See if that helps you. Ray"

"i have windows 2000 professional. when i tried to run the scanner utility i received the message 'scanner dll not found' this file is missing from any of the relevant directories. if any one has found a way to over come this problem or found a driver compatible with win 2000 pro please let me know"

"I decided to completely reinstall everything and these drivers work great now. I think the problem was that I had tried some other drivers off their site, and they created some conflict with these new ones. So, if anyone gets the same problem I mentioned in my previous post and you've tried drivers other than this one, that's probably the reason. Formatting and reinstal

"I have Windows 2000 professional, and I can install the driver, but the scanner doesn't work properly. I can sometimes scan in black and white at a low resolution. I usually get an error message saying "Scan Failed" or something like that. And I can only do color scans if I select only about 1X1 inch to scan. Anything bigger and the scan will fail. "Installed without a hitch. Works great first time. Found my Plustec Optic Pro 12000P instantly.

This Plustec Optic Pro 12000P is a window 3.0 and window 98 Scanner only.I bought it new just before updating to windows XP. Plustec does not support this scanner anymore. They will not update the drivers for it anymore. Really glad I found this driver.This is a scanner dri
