"I have an Astra 1220u. I download several files of the same name from other sites. Didn't work. I was overjoyed to find this file work A1 as soon as I installed it. There is a further update to this file but I haven't tried it yet. "If it's not broke don't fit it" Always good advice."

"This driver is for SCSI and USB type scanners. My 2000P wasn't recognized. This file expands to 21meg which is great if you need this driver. Compared to the 21 meg download of other drivers on this site. I was able to use the exe file that is in Disk one when expanded on another driver that had this file corrupted. This worked for getting this crappy scanner to work.

"If you don't turn on the scanner before you turn on or reboot the PC, the scanner will not be recognized. :)

Also, if you don't declare the ID of the scanner (normally ID 05) in the setup of the machine, it doesn't works neither...

I unzipped the 4 applications then Umax said I must run the first (lowest) application to install the drivers. I was unable to do this unless I purchased the winzip program for $29.00. "Worked for my 1200S. I'm using win 2000 server and had to go to

the FTP page ftp.umax/scanners/scsi to get the scsi drivers (you

can get them for 2000 or XP there). I unziped the file and ran

setup and it loaded the scsi driver. Then double clicked vs355su.exe and installed VistaScan and it started working. Also

under the folder vscan there is an update to vs3
