"Excellent driver set and install. Although I had to run Setup.exe from the English folder in order to avoid requests for the product CD. I recommend this driver set to all."

"It worked with windows 2000. Jeff is right all six files to be packed in one folder and then run new3300c.exe file. the extraction takes place. From ENGLISH folder run setup.exe. if it does not work then run USBSOFT.exe first & then run setup.exe Goodluck"

"Ok did all of the above - didnt work contacted HP again and they gave me a link to an update patch, so I downloaded it (350kb) decompressed it and then went to it opened it and found the me300.exe file inside it and double clicked on it. It installed the update my computer restarted and away we went."

I didn't expect it to as it was not listed for 98 and none of the stuff on this cite listed for 98 has all the required pieces, (i.e. Precision LT, et al). Be sure to download all files to one directory before running the exe file or you will get the extracting errors cited by other users."

"Well, my hopes were up but quickly dashed . I downloaded the file but it is apparently corrupt for sure because I get errors when I try to extract the files. So I guess I keep searching for the fix or give up and buy a new and different brand of scanner. Thanks anyway."

"Out of curiosity, I went to HP's site to see if they had come up with any solutions. They have just come up with a new version of the PrecisionScan LT program (3.03). I downloaded it, uninstalled the old version, installed the new version and everything works great now. So it appears they have got it fixed, at least for Windows XP. But!!! It is a 54MB download. "OK I got my head out of my a** and downloaded all the files (Sorry I doubted you, Annie). I burned them to a CD and installed them. But I'm still getting the 2117 error when I try to scan a picture. I'm using Windows XP Pro. Does anyone else have any suggestions (besides trying to get HP to help, fat chance)?"

"GREAT!!!!!!! Download is a real drag but unavoidable. Use a software that lets you restart where you were interrupted. Note from "tburn" was invaluable! After downloading, burning on CD-ROM, running, if system says "no scanner found", go to device manager, unknown devices, HP ScanJet 3300c, properties,driver screen, update drivers, then continue to direct system to CD-ROM.

"thanks Annie from a really disgruntled 2000 Pro user. Typically, HP have completely ignored my contacts with then, when will companies learn..........??? Burned onto a CD, and loaded three times having received a number of error messages. Should have ignored them as said, the software was already in the directory and has worked trouble free."

"after running the main setup file, it asks for a cd.Had d same experience as Angie and Kirk after running the setup.exe from inside the "English" folder. Installation gets as far as showing the blue "Install Wizard" screen and then prematurely terminates."

"My original CD got a crack in it somehow and HP wanted $9.95 for a new one. Searched the web and finally remembered I had updated my modem driver from this site. I downloaded your files and burned them to CD, it worked like a charm! Thanks so much."

"yes it worked!! Like other people I found that I got error messages when I tried to extract the files. I had to re-download the file that the error message said was corrupted and then it extracted perfectly. The next problem came when I clicked on setup and it told me to insert the CD. Luckily I clicked on the "English" folder and found another setup file, which when click

"Second attempt to get the download done. Presently loading at the "tremendeous" speed of 25 byte a second! Will last about 2 hours for the first download. Is there a faster way of downloading the software? Wy are smaller downloads completed in almost no time? "I thought it rather rude that HP did not have this driver posted on their website also. And it really steamed me when I found out that they are charging $9.95 for a CD with the 2K drivers. But I figured, what the heck, I need it. So I called. Guess what? They're shipping it at NO CHARGE. This will save me the 47mb d/l... Just goes to show ya, don't believe everything

"I desesperatly tried this soft to run my 4200c but it doesn't work. If Annie has got a big sister who own a 4200 serie under W2k?? If you search (well) on HP's site you'll find how to "buy" ($10) the precisionscan by calling a long distance phone number but they "offer" you the driver that you can't do anything with it!!! Next time I'm gonna buy an Epson!"

"I installed the driver on Win 2000, but at some point of time, I got a message saying please insert the CD for additional software. The system is recognizing the scanner and its doing ok on a diagnostic, but I don't have scanner management software. Still, this is a great relief. Thanks, Annie. And I would like to add that I am TERRIBLY disappointed by HP. Their web page
