wintac edom W6BXA INTEL 440BX motherboard bios update
Guys, you need to get a program called awdflash.exe to use in conjunction with this BIN file. It should be floating around the web...just do a Google search for it.
Let the floppy finish formatting, then copy awdflash.exe and the .bin file to the floppy. Write down the name of the bin file; you'll need to know this in a minute. reboot your machine from this floppy. When you get the famous a:> prompt, follow the on-screen directions. When the BIOS flash begins (after you've entered the name of the bin file) don't touch ANYTHING (keyboard or mouse) or shut your power off, otherwise your computer will be rendered useless.
After the BIOS update is complete, turn your machine's power off. Short your "clear CMOS" jumper for 5-10 seconds. restart your machine, and immediately go into your BIOS setup screen by pressing the key you need to press (usually the "Del" key or F10.) Select "load setup defaults." save your changes and restart your machine. let your machine finish booting at least once before you change anything in your BIOS setup.
That should be everything you need to know. Now, if anyone ever asks you, or you see someone asking online about flashing an AWARD BIOS, please be nice and pass this on; I get sick of seeing someone ask the same questions over and over again...and I won't type this out ever again."
