Background and system configuration: Purchased open box non-branded GeForce 6600 PCI-E video adapter locally at a computer shop and installed on self built system with Biostar NF44A7 motherboard with Athlon 64 3000+ CPU with 1gig DDR 400 RAM (Single Stick), and with Generic USB 2.0/FW 400 Combo PCI Card and Seagate 300 gig ATA-100 Hard Drive running XP Pro 64bit OS with all hi priority, software optional, and hardware optional updates from Windows Update Site installed and up to date. Also have Windows Defender Beta 2 running along with nVidia's provided Firewall and net manager program.

Need for Driver: Upon installing drivers for video card, I discovered that the wrong CD was in the box and had to find nVidia Forceware drivers for this board.

How to Update FX6600LE Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
