"This update of your aspi layer is not necessary if you have service pack 2 or later in windows xp. It my help in older windows operating systems like ME or 2000, But is completely unnecessary in xp sp2 or later. This caused more problems than it solved for me."

"I don't understand how this works. It downloaded fine, but I can't figure out how to use it. My device manager says my drive is missing or corrupted for the UJDA710. Any help anyone can lend would be great. Thanks!"

"The UJDA 710 is a DVD/CDROM/CDRW. The driver does not load the CDRW function. The device manager shows only DVD/CDROM. I emailed Panasonic but got now response."

"I try to install it but I had win XP warnings. In fact, I choose to install SP1 and everything was OK (don't need this driver any more).

"I cannot say if I recommend the driver or not. I installed the driver or firmware and it seemed to install properly; however, the DVD-CD/R/RW internal driver still does not appear on "My Computer" window of my laptop. I own a Sony Vaio R505 laptop computer which includes a DVD-DSM5 Docking Station. I'm still troubleshooting the problem. An internal DVD-CD/RW

"When inserting a blank or a recorded CD in the drive, the drive is going on and off, it does not recognize de CD.

If I put a music, DVD or software CD, no problem.

Any suggestions"

"You try to update the driver from the system\device manager and it won't recognise it as you need an inf file not a system one. Not worth downloading."

"My problem is that my drive does not read/write CD-R`s (newer Versions) I think this is a firmware problem! Does anybody know where i can get the new firmware???"

"It's a firmware issue, not a driver problem. Supposedly both Sony and Panasonic (who both use this drive in their laptops) wont help anyone. There supposedly is a firmware upgrade out there, but it has not been released, and neither company will release it, even with all the complaints they got over this drive. and yes jay, that is your ip. what are you going to do, cry n

"Toshiba Satellite 5005 S405 WXP HE Downloaded & clicked install...still cannot burn CD-R...drive light flashes on off constantly...popup will occur saying "insert blank CD"..the CD-R is blank,what gives??? Have probably thrown away good blank CD-Rs because stupid drive says they are not blank"
