JVC is a Japanese electronics company which was formed in 1927 to produce phonographs and records, and later began producing electronics such as TV’s and radios. One of the biggest achievements JVC made was the development of the VCR, as well as the VHS format for playing video cassettes and recording video. Today, JVC is known as JVCKenwood, after the company merged with Kenwood in 2008. However the JVC brand name is still used. Some of the popular products made by JVC include the EverioR and Procision line of camcorders, and the DLA series of home theater projectors.
