The company was founded in 1983 in Japan, and its Japanese headquarters are located in Kazo, Saitama. Wacom also has headquarters in the United States, located in Portland, Oregon, and another headquarters in Dusseldorf, Germany, which serves Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Wacom was the first manufacturer to produce a cordless digital pen, and the company's first cordless pen tablet was introduced in 1984.
