Y-E Data, Inc. is a computer peripheral manufacturer based in Saitama, Japan. The company manufactures peripherals such as floppy disk drives, card readers, and printers. The company was founded in 1973, and began producing 8-inch floppy disk drives as its flagship product. Y-E Data continued to make and sell 5.25" and 3.5" floppy disk drives throughout the 1980s. In the 1990s, Y-E Data introduced its first multimedia products, as well as the YD-4800 shuttle printer. In March of 2019, Y-E Data was acquired by another Japanese company called Yaskawa Control Co., Ltd. In addition to the YD-4800 printer, some other popular Y-E Data products include the HEXA media drive and the YD-8V40 memory card reader.
