"Drivers is not compatable with the yamaha ymg724x-v when used in windows xp or vista.

The yamaha ymf720 is actualy a DS1 native driver.

YMG724xxx named series drivers tend to register as 16bit and are blocked by vista as not being 32bit, and lack several lines of programing in the .INF files."

"This driver worked a treat even after Win xp failed to recognise the device itself and wanted to install another driver which I knew to be the wrong one. These Yamaha chipset drivers do confuse win xp sometimes but take no notice of windows messages [if you know the sound card does have a ym724 chip ]and it will normally work just fine."

"I was really guessing that this was the driver I needed as I did not have a model number. Apparently it was a mismatch which caused the computer to crash."

"After unpacking the exe file, the zip generated a Win9x folder !!! It was supposed to be a driver for WinXP, isn't it ? I forced the installation from this folder. The Yamaha YMF724 SoundCArd was NOT installed."

"couldn't get this to work. Can't get around the installation wizard (that already pops up at start) that ignores the files and tells me the files contained in folder c:audio/win9x doesn't contain what he need to install. Tried through device manager as well, but as soon as i try to update driver (to manually tell him where to look) the inst.wiz pops up again. Any suggestio
