"I downloaded 12 different drivers for opti 82c931 and not one would work with windows 2000 pro.

If I were to reinstall 98 back into that machine then it would be ok and no problems but on 2k pro none would even install optiaudio16 and after looking into zip package that part is not even there and it is needed for the installation in 2k pro."

"It works under win2k. If you have to use this driver for Opti 82 930A under w2k you have to unpack zip into separate folder. And use add new hardware option ---> not to use auto PnP detection ---> install ---> sound card ---> from disk ---> and you have to specify the location od readme.nt (this is exactly default NT system driver for Opti 930, 931 but works under 2000 and
