"Where do I get this MSCDEX.exe drive .. My computer does not recognize my CD or DVD Drives .. Im running windows XP with a Sony Vaio PCV755 series"

"It worked with XP, but you have to move the MSCDEX.exe from another file into the windows file! Just search for MSCDEX.EXE and copy and paste it into the windows folder"

"i don't understand why, but win 98 se will "see" the file mscdex.exe and will save it to a floppy but when you go to "see" it, it ain't visible, but it's still there and for some reason i can run it but xp wont let me see it or cut and paste it... etc. however you can find the file on windows 98 se sorry i couldn't help more... if anyone can ever explain to me why the file

"i reconised the name of the application instantly and went into the other room, waked a floppy into the old computer with OS WIN98SE copyed it onto a disk and here it is MSCDEX.EXE"
