"Yes!!! ive managed the impossible! ive got the scanner running under Windows XP! first of all download this file, then when its complete open the file with WinZip and extract all the files to a directory, then plug in your scanner and when the found new hardware wizard pops up direct it to Direcetoryyouextractedfile to\OT1Drivers\OS\Scan_ENG. when thats done, insert the CD

"Hello Guys,

Thanks for the try but my windows xp refused to install after downloading the file, the licence was refused and i got a jibe email from microsoft, have now thrown the scanner away, not suitable for windows xp, not on my version at any rate. I understand and have no probs, some work some don't, its microsoft with there big heads in xp that cause the problems.

I had tried various other drivers to get the primax 9600 working with Win XP all failed! This was a very fast download & install that fixed the problem instantly, no conflicts. Thanks....

"downloaded this driver for tiny scanner model fu318d which is the same device as colorado 9600 usb scanner. it doesn't work in xp, this driver is for win2000 only. primax (who made the scanner for tiny) say it does work in xp but it doesn't. worse than that it f*cks up the usb subsys and prevents any other scanner from operating. microsoft recommend re-install xp to fix th

"It does work under XP pro. Follow the instructions and it should work (except with MS paint for me) You will have to search for Scan_ENG.inf and then plug in the scanner and give the location you found the file. Select the non 95 version and it works. Taken me years to find this!!"

"I tryed to follow the instructions but never got the option to abort the intall. No worries, just opend the downlaod file with win zip and extracted the whole lot to a new folder, then pluged in the scanner, then when and got the file like the bloke said (it's fro win 95, that how old this scanner is). the driver installed ok, XP said it has "no XP logo" so could

"Also any time i want to scan i have to follow the same procedure. Plug the USB an after that the power. That is because i don't have spare USB ports and the scanner is left unplugged unless i want to use it."

"It worked for me! After extracting files make sure that you plug in the USB cable prior to the power cable! In my case when i did the opposite the add new hardware wizard couldn't find any device at all."

"It's a bit troublecausing ! I tried some other drivers I found lower in the list (for Colorado USB 19200/OS XP URL=www2.driverguide.com/uploads/uploads14/27030.html). Only 900KB to download and much easier to install ! My Colorado USB 9600 worked perfectly under XP. I have scaned documents via Office tools with OCR and pictures via iphoto plus with no problem ! Try it !

"I also downloaded the driver, and tried to un-zip it under Windows XP. That did not work at all. Then I tried to un-zip it under Windows 98. That worked perfectly. I then copied the files and installed them under Win XP. No problems the scanner works like a dream."

"I have downloaded this driver, but when you run the program it loads the program, unpacks whatever it unpacks. "Hi, I have the COlorado USB 9600 and had the driver for Win98. The method above only worked on my XP when INstalled as FlatbedScanner(English)5 hardware. The only difference I can see is that the Twain for ths hardware requires warmup of 30 seconds before scanning (cna be skipped). Thanks all."
