"The instalation,runing,config. of the buttons,all ok.the buttons now works excellent(thanks,thanks,thanks),only that I can say is that I have and advise of the d.admin. saying the driver is disabled becouse the other(kbd hid) is runing all the functions for this device,but it is running now with all the leds,buttons, and there is no problem with nothing else.

"It install an app but not a driver like itself. Now i see the commands in the monitor but cant configure the buttons because there are not an hp driver to use. All in Win XP and in a non HP Pc."

"USB have all malfuntioned. I installed this driver on 1/13/09 and it solved the problem. Problem has reoccurred today, new dowload did not work this time.

"Ignore the ratings and read the post;I am using the HP 5184-4708 mdl- SK2506U keyboard on TWO different computers with two different results (XP PRO on both). On my system with the ASUS K8N M/B it was useless, BUT on my system with the MSI KT4V it installed perfectly and performs flawlessly !!! Good Luck!"

"Froze my PC! Maybe it goes without saying (I'm using Windows 2003 while these are meant for XP), but the drivers wouldn't even successfully install before KBD.exe hogged all my processor and I had to restart in safe mode to disable this. Going to HP's site and downloading the 'update' worked for me."

"There were no problems with the installation of the driver. As for it's stability and usefulness, I honestly don't know because it did not work for my keyboard (which originally comes with an HP/Compaq Evo desktop computer but is now being used on a custom built computer). Hopefully others have had better luck getting their keyboard to work."

"Model 5302 p/n 5183 9969 and it works well with xp I cant believe it.

before this driver, I only had mute and volume suport.

Now all the extra butons can be programmed to take you to files / programms or web sites, this is done from an entry in the control panel.

"Long time I've been searching 4 a driver 4 my HP Illuminated Multimedia Keyboard. Finally this one seems to work fine, all the blue lights work, but when I try to configure the buttons, config screen appears, but computer hangs if I want to reconfigure a button! But Pre-configured buttons all work, so Thanx a lot !"

"NOTE: Comment for Windows 2000 only, probably functions well on Windows XP, I haven't tried.

Does not function well with Windows 2000 and the 5185. Probably only for WindowsXP which I'll never install. 7 middle keys light up, but you have to put kbd.exe in the startup, and I have not found any sane way to configure the keyboard hotkeys in 2K. Volume control doesn't fun

"I put XP PRO on a HP 7950 with a 5185-1596 keyboard and lost all the buttons. This download went quickly and safely, and I have all my buttons back. The volume bar looks a little different but I'm VERY happy with it."

"Great for XP & the best I found for 2000. Others for 2000 add some software less than perfect. With this you just have to manually change the software config file to adjust the keys and loose the volume knob. In XP everything seems to work solidly."

"The driver worked great with the keyboard, all keys were active, the volume know worked, etc. But for the PS/2 version (the one I'm using), the USB Printer HP Laserjet 1000 stopped working.

It kept saying the printer was disconnected, and it wasn't. SO using the Control Panel, I went to the keyboard config applet, chose Hardware, clicked on Properties and chose Driver

"I have a fresh install of XP and an HP SK-2506 keyboard. The keyboard does not allways work on start-up. If you go to control panel or reconnect the keyboard then it starts working. Any ideas on how to fix? The connect light never works."

"Don't bother reading any of these other peoples' comments! I'm running a wimpy, little Pavilion 310n (1.2Ghz, 128M, fresh install of XP Pro) and this driver brought my extra buttons back from the dead! (We all know what help HP was! NOT!!) If this driver doesn't work for you, your download messed up, or you installed it wrong, or your computer needs a good formatting!

"The driver did not work for my system-- I have an HP 9780C (Pavilion) with a USB Multimedia keyboard (P/N 5184-9647). After installation, kbd.exe ran away with the CPU. I had to kill the kbd.exe process and rename it (to kbd-x.exe) so that it would not restart after reboot."

"This driver enables all keyboard functions even when the keyboard is connected to a non-HP computer, but I've encountered one odd quirk. I sometimes have to physically disonnect and then reconnect the ps2 cable for the board to operate, especially when I start the unit with a USB joystick attached. Any speculation?"

"Downloaded driver to activate "extra" buttons on hp internet keyboard. Am using Compaq notebook and after install these two work very well together. All buttons programmable, no bugs. Running Windows xp pro. Thank you for this driver!"

"I have a HP 6511-SU internet multimedia keyboard. It has 21 extra keys, plus a rotary volume control. This driver does not work for my HP keyboard. I install it, reboot, and nothing happens. Nothing in control panel, keyboard properties still says a general HID input keyboard."

"I Have Downloaded The Driver For My KeyBoard.. "I downloaded this for my SK-2506 since the multi-media buttons didn't work after XP upgrade. I selected the file and hit enter. It went from 0-63% in about 15 seconds, then took over 70 minutes to get to the installation part. EVERYTHING moved slower than a snail and it locked me up. I got rid of it, and all was fine. "The driver worked for the sound keys and the Internet access buttons but there wasn't any way to reconfigure the buttons. Nothing in Control Panel was available to reconfigure the buttons. cd/dvd/mp3 keys worked but Sleep and help don't. Good driver to gain some re-control of the MM functions."
