The driver for the Packard bell USB 'Professional Slimline scanner' is in fact a MUSTEK 1200CU driver. It is obtained from this page www.mustek.com.tw/Download/driv_scanr/europe/1200cu.html When you install in on XP you must go to the device manager and locate the driver manually, forcing windows xp to load from the windows temp directory- inf files - USB folder. Unless you do this specifically it will report an error and the scanner won't work! Don't give up because It's a great scanner and DOES work great with XP only if you can navigate to the USb directory in the inf folder forcing the device manager to install it!
