This firmware update is for the Sony DVD+RW DW-P50A. It will fix the problem of recognizing a DVD+RW disc. This firmware version is 1.8C. When you extract the files, open the update icon, and it will ask you to close all programs before continuing. Then it will ask you to restart the system before continuing the firmware update. After restarting, click on the update icon again. Make sure there are no disks in the drive and confirm that the drive is selected. Then continue with the update. After the update is complete, it will ask you again to restart.
