"Winrar was used to open the archive as Ultimatezip couldn't cope. The setup program is utterly useless (apparently because 2 cabs in the archive are trash). I used reinstall driver in device manager. The machine through a few curves (it's a bit of a dinosaur) but is behaving now. Thanks driverguide - success yet again thanks to you!"

installed the .inf file by hand and it added a xp´style icon on task bar to eject the hardware safely, wich was not there before...
