"I can't believe I had to fill out all that stupid information to download a free driver. I searched for the file on google, and this site popped up... I thought it might be a new alternative rather than using the Brother site. Wrong! "Doesn't work on newer MFC models. If you reqire a driver for a specific model, probably best to seek the specific model driver."

"Cannot give an imformative and honest evaluation of this driver, I downloaded it out of sheer haste,instead of sound reasoning. No other drivers available at the time of download that I thought would be a better match. So I can't say in all honesty good or bad, my apologies to the contributor. (SORRY GUYS!!!)"

"This driver does not work For WinNT4 w/sp6a and Brother FAX3800. The other one is for WinXP. Brother download site is currently unavailable and may never return."

"this driver is sooo poor, there are too many files with no way to tell exactly which one is supposed to be used for which device, there is no self installer and unfortunately, every single one of the .inf files that were in the self extracter would not even attempt to show up drivers for my MFC 5100C"

"I have been trying Brother's Drivers that came with my unit. They seem to be adequate for personal use, but this driver exceeds even my expetations. I have been in the software development business for 26 years, and I am not easily impressed.

"I prefer working with Stuffit compressed files. This one with Winzip didn't have a setup or install file within the archive. One should make the archive self executable before giving it out to the public. Meanwhile, I will mop up all the files just loaded into the temp folder and try to sort out how to install the driver."

"The driver is working just fine on my mfc4550 printer.It took me a little while to install but I finaly got it.I put my flopy install disk in that came with printer and then I clicked on the run command.In my case,two options came up.One was setup and the other was brinst32.I clicked on brinst32 and ran it and it worked for me.If you click on run before you put the disk in

"Used TC's instructions...still won't install. Am trying to install MFC7000fc. It's not even on the list of supported printers. Supposedly it's a built in driver, but the computer doesn't even recognize that it exists, so doesn't find the appropriate driver. If starting from scratch, click onto Add a new printer, Local device, and when asked to locate the drive, select Have Disk, and point the browse feature to the C \Temp sub-dir where

"Yes!. It worked (almost) perfectly on my MFC7000FC with Win XP. It scans better (all features anabled). Feature-rich driver interface for printing, scanning and copying. At Last. Now I have my MFC7000 work as my backup/secondary printer. Old, but still acceptable."

"Please excuse my ignorance but I downloaded the driver files to show a friend with XP what he needs to do. I can't seem to figure out which file you execute ... as in "setup" on WIN98 for example. Am I missing something ... or is XP different in how you RUN a software driver install?"
