"I was really happy to find this! I bought the joystick at a second-hand store for a few bucks, and found it hard to believe I couldn't find it at Micro$oft's website, as someone said before.

It works fine with the SideWinder ForceFeedback II / 2 joystick:

USB only and built-in power supply.

I don't think this will work on the older SideWinder ForceFeedback joy

"Since there are two versions it would be nice if these drivers indicate they are either for the USB version or the older 15 pin version joysticks."

"hey, the driver works well, but sometimes when i grab the stick, it defaults to "Sitting on a Pyramid" i dont think its a driver issue.. i wish i could flash my joystick bios.. >_<"

Caused by many system reboots or any crashes that may have occured, especially USB recognition with a new video camera or other new device. own 'connection testing' will help get things going again. Otherwise, it appears the joystick does not work when plugging in the USB and the system just freezes, which interferes with the Nvidia videocards for some reason resulting in a fatal system error which is recoverable with "system restore".
