2420 Digital Telephone
This is the ReadMe file for Release 4.0 of the Avaya 2420 Telephone software.
The release consists of only one file, 2420_R4.bin, which is the binary
software image that can be downloaded from the MultiVantage (TM) switch to a
2420 digital telephone.
NEW FEATURES in Release 4.0:
- Call Log can be viewed by call-type -
This allows viewing only calls of a particular type (answered, missed, or outgoing).
The option remains to view All calls (regardless of type).
- Log Call duration -
The Call Log details screen now displays the call duration.
- New Option to Show Phone Screen On Alerting -
When a call comes in, this option allows the 2420 to automatically display the page of the
phone screen containing the ringing call a
ppearance. (By default this option is disabled.)
- Increase the length of Speed Dial numbers to 24 characters -
- New Option to Stay in Speed Dial ?
This option keeps the 2420 in the Speed Dial (select number to call) screen after
originating a call to a speed dial entry. Useful for sending account or access codes.
- Replace Insert mode with Backspace & Clear -
During text entry (e.g. speed dials) the 2420 is now always in Insert Mode (never
Overwrite mode) and provides softkeys for (destructive) Backspace and Clear. The
cursor arrows now always move (nondestructively) left and right.
- Call Log support for transferred and hunt group calls -
- Selective Erase -
The Erase All option has been enhanced to allow selecting what items to erase.
- Support for MIP-1 cordless headset adapter -
This allows enhanced support for the LKA10 (USA) and CA40 (Europe) cordless headsets.
(Note: the MIP-1 is not required for these headsets to work with a 2420; it simply
improves ring detection and mute operation.)
KNOWN ISSUES in Release 4.0:
None at this time.
