"If you are installing for a DP-560 in XP SP2, this is what I suggest:

1)Read and carefully follow the text instructions contained within the zip file "Installation Windows 2000,XP". You will likely have to copy/paste some missing files from the unzipped folder into various directories after the initial installation. This is explained in the directions.

"I downloaded the driver and installed it per the instructions within the zip file. The printer worked fine for 2 days and now I am getting a printer error telling me to turn the printer off and then back on. I do the off/on and still consistently receive the same error.

Has anyone found a different driver that works for the dp-560? I only had a chance to use this brand

"Thanks for the driver, but after following the instructions and checking if all files were copied, I face the same problem as some other users when printing. The status monitor is mentioning "Power Off or Cable problem" "Check Printer power Cord. Switch and printer Cable" I have tried the suggestions given above, without any result. Does anybody know an appropiate solutio

"Thanks for the driver. I now have a fully functional desklaser 600 again, working perfectly on Windows XP. The manufacturer was of no help and suggested a possible compatible driver, but I am still waiting for a reply. So thanks again as I was on the point of buying a new printer."

"Finally got this working on Win 2000. Initially kept getting the messages "Power Off or Cable problem" "Check Printer power Cord. Switch and printer Cable" The problem is the install.bat doesn't make the registry entries successfully. You have to make the registry entries manually. Here's how 1. Start...Run...regedit ( do not use regedt32 as in the install.bat file ) 2

"Ok if you open the zip file and nothing, well you need a new unzipper, why? because it was zipped using a new compression technology, this driver works with 2k, xp, me, and now windows 2003 server, just keep trying and don't forget those restarts!!!!!!!!!"

"First, you must follow the instructions in the installation text file. If you do not follow the instructions, it doesn't work. If you have already installed it, I wish you good luck. "NOT buying another Mita, ever. Even Panasonic came up with an XP driver for my 6 year old KXP6100. Mita does not respond to e-mails, and their site does not even allow you to chose "poor" in rating their support -- it only sends an email if you chose "fair" or better. What a joke."

"Thanks for the instruction and all the comments. My printer now is working beautifully. In case there are some people who still don't know where to get a toner, you can find one at www.mitadirect.com. The price is pretty reasonable. I've compared with a local dealer, who was going to charge me $500. Once ordered, it will arrive in 2-3 days. And it can last 4-5 times

"XP Users After trying for days and nights with varios XP drivers offered here and at other places, I was about to give up and throw the printer away.. But it´s so easy to solve the problem.. simply install your qms dl 600 with XP´s standard printer driver "HP Laser Jet 5000 Series PCL".. it works with absolutely NO problems!! Greets Leslie"

"Also took me three tries to get it to work. I found out that my motherboard was using "Auto" for a setting. When I changed it to EPP+ECP it worked. Now prints with no problems in my XP machine."

"For anyone having problems, just a reminder to run the install.bat file in the unzipped dir. When prompted for the NT or whatever cd.. point again to the unzipped dir. You will know what to do then.. (use the force). I like to keep the unzipped dir in my root dir. Easy to find c \mita ) enjoy.. . anyone know where to get cheap toner?"

"Thanks! This was my first time loading a driver and there was a learning curve. Follow the directions and it works great. I spent a couple of hrs trying to get it to work before I reread the intructions and did the Install.Bat to get the registry entrees. I also had to copy some of the files into the Win-XP system. That made me fee queesy however, my computer did not

"Finally I can use my Mita dp560 again! Ever since I upgraded my OS to XP my Mita been collecting dust since it wouldn´t run under XP. It took three tries to get it running and for the first time in quite a while I can use my laser again. The problem I encountered was when to use the install.bat file. It appears to be when the printer is added as hardware but before running

"I downloaded this driver to run my wonderful little mita dp-560 but alas,it doesn't seem to work. Every time I try to print the status monitor says there is either a problem with my printer cord or the power cord. If anyone can help me figure this out I would be so very grateful"
