"The driver was tested on a Biostar M7VKQ motherboard with a mini modem card in the AMR slot (FB PCTEL AMR). Operating system was Windows XP SP2.

The pctelamr-w2k.zip was unpacked on the machine using WinZIP. Then using Control Panel-->System-->Hardware-->Device Manager, the "PCI Simple Communication Controller" driver was updated using the Update Dri

"I attempted to load the driver, but no model numbers were listed to select. Is it missing from your download? or Am I supposed to do something extra out of the ordinary. "Everything whent well, but, modem wouldn't work until I chose "Port: COM3"

I had tried other drivers for fb pctel amr, and they didn't work on my winxp. So I pulled the modem out of my PC, looking for other identification. The ID tag said fb pctel amr, but when I turned the modem over, I saw v1.2 stamped in white, which brought me to this driver.

"After searching in vain through windows disk and the internet for the correct driver, I pulled the modem AMR card, retreived the name of: FB PCTEL AMR of the expansion card, typed it into the search box for driverguide.com and BAM, there it was!

Worked perfect!

"I couldn't get this to install under Windows 2000 Professional. I went through the Hardware Installation Wizard, selected "Have Disk", then went to the folder where I extracted the zip file. But when I selected the INF file, nothing was listed zip, nada, blank. Am I doing this wrong?"

"Worked fine for XP pro. This is the second time I've used this site and this driver for the FB PCTEL AMR MODEM. Maybe all you other potty mouths have bad modems and the driver works. Thanks."
