"This driver (v7.23.01.00 for the Conexant D480 MDC v.92 modem) appears to work correctly, but it did NOT solve the problem of the Conexant device driver preventing my laptop from entering standby mode when I close it up.

Hard a hard time installing it... the setup program was looking for the file SetupSys.sys in the temp directory; I found it in the c:\windows\system32

\drivers directory on my WinXP Pro system. Had canceled the first install because it came up with an empty installation list, but was able to restart it by running Setup.exe from the the default directory, c:\Dell\drivers\R104084. After manually entering the location of SetupSys.sys, it installed the driver successfully.
