"when installed, there is no action manager, you must use a photo editing program's twain function to acquire the image. iffy results, but with repeated tries, you can get a good scan."

"It worked for me! I'm using Windows XP Home Edition and it works with Microsoft Office tools - Imaging & Scanning. The Action Manager nor Photomagic would work, but the imaging & scanning in Microsoft Office tools works, I think, even better! Thanks Jan!"

"It worked for me. Thanks Jan! I'm using Windows XP Home Edition. It works great with Microsoft Office Tools -- Document Imaging & Scanning. I did find that I couldn't use the Photomagic and Action Manager, but the Microsoft office imaging & scanning works just as nicely or better. Thanks a bunch!!"

"I have just downloaded it and installed as instructed by Steve Norris above. (Win XP pro, no SP1..yet) Boy was that easy and it has just worked first time on a scan using 'simplecopier'. That in itself is much easier than the manager that came with optic pro. Cheers Jim(2)PS some of the instructions are not in the chosen language (English)"

"I try several times, it doesn't work, os win xp profession, try install original deiver then update the new one, fail.. remove my web cam, fail... no application software can drive the scanner. even click the utility, it only shows scanner connection, but not really function, so dissapointed."

"I used it with Win 2K Professional and it worked fine. I was able to scan straight into Photoshop, just like I used to on Win 98. Nice job. I like my Mustek scanner and didn't want to replace it just because I upgraded to Win 2K."

"It really works with XP-pro!!.. Thanks cause i could use my scanner "again". For all the people that it didnīt run, try using "photoeditor" cause it recognizes it and has no problem"

"Thanks for producing the NT driver for the OpticPro 4830P. I have loaded it onto my Win XP operating system. The scanner goes through the motions, prescans and scans. However I just get a blank white screen when I scan, whatever mode I have it in. Black and White, Colour or OCR, or Whether the lamp is on or not. I have tried various ways with no joy Can you help me has

"Yes it worked. I had to uninstall the cdrom driver that came with the OpticPro 4830P scanner and that leaves me with a message on boot up saying that am.exe is missing. Please remove the reference from the registry etc. I access the scanner via MGI photosuite ATM. I have yet to try the OCR side of it. I am using XPpro (without SP1) and a VIA chipset. Just every driver clas

"Woo hoo! it worked perfectly, after going on plusteks site & they said it was incompatible with xp i was doubtful that there was a fix for it--but it worked. I ran it from PHOTO MAGIC (software program that came with it) not from action manager--action manager did NOT work."

"Running XP Home SP1. The test utility worked OK (could see the scanner, turn the light on and off). The Action Manager, though, gave an error that 'the system had been destroyed' - and would not budge after that - so no - it did not wotk for me."
