"I didn't really know what I was doing, but I did this:

Unpacked the files to a directory.

Ran the fixwinxp exe file

When it asked for a filename, gave it the file called "web" in the same directory

I then rebooted and checked that the driver was working using the Control panel.

After this, I installed my scanner software, and it all seems to be wo

"i try all differant ways ,even safe mode command prompt,when i first got the scanner from eathlink -signup, i downloaded a driver and it workeded in,2002,now it come up with 16 bit error message i seen something about chaining the registery key i did'nt read that yet. there for i cant rate the driver any help would be great,thanks chris2150@adelphia.net"

"I tried this driver for my scanner this won't work for xp window

like it said it would. I am looking for a scanner driver for a scanmagic 1200 UB Plus and a driver for a second one is mustek1200 UBplus"

"At least this one worked for me...

If you got problems with this, do the following:

-uninstall existing drivers

-get sure the scanner isn´t connected!

-run the file fixwinxp.exe, and when the file asks you for the next install file, don´t open the web.exe, but the run.exe on your installation-cd!!! Restart your System after the installation is done.

"I have tried the above driver for the Mustek 1200 USP but it does not recognize it. It looks like we need another driver named UP_LIB.EXE ~ UP_LIB.W04!!! any body can help to get this driver, or if you know what is its task"

"Downloaded the file, run the fix file, all it did was put a uninstall icon in a folder in my programs list. It did not install any icon to operate the scanner and it still does not recognize the scanner on startup. It syas new hardware, and can't find the driver. ANY SUGGESTIONS???"

"Like Mick said, you need to install this WITH the supplied software. For those of you who are software challenged as I sometimes find myself to be, what I did was down load this driver, disconnect the scanner, open the zip file and execute fixwinxp app file. Then, I ran the CD ROM that was supplied the scanner and it opened and installed fine. Then, it opened correctly and

"Had a lot of trouble getting my inherited Mustec ScanMagic 1200 USB scanner working on Windows XP. Several drivers on this site loaded OK, but no Direct Scan Icon or Scan Dialog Box appeared on VDU. Mustek now relies on Users installing Photo Express (or possibly MS Word) to get a TWAIN Dialog Box on screen,to be able to undertake scanning. Eventually used Mustek European
