"After getting an excellent deal on my Lexmark x83, I entailed much frustration and anger upon installation. The hardware wizzard could not find the proper software off the web, and I didn't have the proper installation cd. "can't rate the driver as it won't install. It hangs up on a program named "CHECkPRINTREGXP" I have tried a number of other related drivers for the Lexmark x83 and all have the same result. I am thinking that it may have something to to do with a corrupted Windows file or maybe some other one but I find little info that helps me out in the Blue Nowhere. If I get

"Once driver was downloaded installation on Win2000 took 2 tries due to an error on the users part, once installed correctly on the Lex X83 printer it worked as addvertised and was pleased with the on screen copy control panel.

Over all I rated the driver software above my expectations."

"As far as I understand this is the only driver for XP - the same as the official one on lexmark.com. As other users reported CHECkPRINTREGXP.exe hangs during installation. Extract the files with 7zip and install it manually through add hardware in control-panel. Then run this installation file and use task-manager to quit CHECkPRINTREGXP when it hangs.
