"Thanks so much. With this BIOS upgrade I was able to get my GA-586ATV motherboard to recognise a Samsung 20Gig hard drive. I unzipped the files and copied them onto a floppy disk. Booted up my system with a Win98se boot disk and ran awdflash.exe. Just followed the prompts (making sure that I selected 'Y' to save a backup - just in case) and it installed and worked a treat.

My advice to anyone is that you must make sure that the driver you are downloading is correct for your motherboard. You can try something that looks close but if you have problems afterwards, you can't complain. Thanks again for taking the time to upload the files Stanze. Your blood is worth bottling mate. Ian"

"Did not work with Rev. 4b board. This is the same file as is available from europe.giga-byte.com except they provide f773 utility. All was not lost becuase I saved the existing BIOS image before hand. When I rebooted I saw nothing, but the floppy booted, so I blindly typed 'f773 atv.122' where atv.122 was the BIOS I saved, then 'N' and 'Y' to the prompts from memory. Ph

"The flash utility does not work. It comes up with "insuffecient memory" Use utility f773 on gigabyte site."
