"Hi - My puter also crashes. Seem to be a conflict with either win updates or modem . Had it working before but then upgraded modem driver to ess and crashed...anyone know why? also this is the only driver out there for xp and ac97 on a ms-6380 v1.x motherboard! Any help will be appreciated. Not much fun without sound. -)"

"I upgrade my OS from ME to XP, but XP does not detect my sound card. I use the DriverGuide Toolkit to find the OEM name and the device name. Then after searching in Driverguide website, it point to the right driver. I download it and install it. It works excellently."

"This driver is fine for AC97 chipset. There are two types of AC97 sound card,

"normal?" and enhanced. This one is for enhanced. Also chipset may be VIA or SIS. I have SIS. Some AC97 drivers will work with either. I can't remember if this is one of them. Anyway, whilst I was able to edit the .inf file to make it install, it was not suitable for my configuration
