"What driver ... it doesn't download anything but a text file stating that XP has a working driver for this CDR. That's bull or I wouldn't be looking for a different driver. Mega thanks to all (HP, Microsuck, and Driverguide)."

"downloaded what was suppose to be a driver and was instead just a load of usless information.

How do you expect to load a driver from a cdrom when the cdrom doesnt work...(no driver)...hence...the download needed, looking to a windows xp disk might work wonders if the cdrom actually worked.....sorry chaps, bad advice from the person who supplied this driver/information

"THE FIX for HP9300i. Install XP SP1. Plug this CDWriter on its on IDE cable. No slave attachment!!!. Use DMA if possible. Then try it again. It worked for me."

"If you have HP's burner software installed for Win9x and upgraded to XP you will only have to get the updated versions from HP for that software to work. The old versions of HP Simple Backup & HP RecordNow are not compatable with XP. Just download the updated version from HP.. Other than that the drivers that are used with XP install work just fine. Nero works better t

"There is no WinXp Driver for HP9300 Internal cd writer. Use nero burning rom to write cd's (Winxp Version) or get Hp Simple cd backup from WWW.Hewlettpackard.com(Approx. 15 MB) For free with HP Cd Writers just download. But if someone says there is a driver. Well HP says there aint."

"Take your 9300i and junk it. I Spent $10 to get the upgrade disk from HP that you can't download from them but only purchase. It doesn't work. If you watch for salws you can get a burner from Circuit City or Best Buy for only 19 bucks with rebates that has anti coaster technology and xp compatible, supports DMA. Happy Shopping Live Long and Prosper."

"Ok. Is this supposed to be a joke? Why is every site I visit searching for a driver download for this hp cd-writer plus 9300i saying to go back to the XP cd? If any of us looking for this driver could refer to the XP cd, we would not need a download. The stupid thing would be working. There is only a text doc within this download.
